Often in performing family history research, we learn of family or village folklore passed down from generation to generation. In 2006, a legend involving one family was unexpectedly discovered in a local book in a small town in northern Slovakia. This lecture by Karen Melis will take the serendipitous discovery of that local legend through the rigors of a reasonably exhaustive search in an attempt to distinguish fact from fiction.
